  • 0.5 cup pecans
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons half and half

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Chop pecans and toast in a skillet over low heat until fragrant. Cool.
  3. Cream softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy, about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add egg, vanilla extract, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until smooth.
  5. Gradually add flour and stir in 3 tablespoons half and half. Mix in half of the toasted pecans.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 3 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 11-13 minutes until edges are crispy. Cool on wire racks.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and cinnamon, then add half and half to reach desired glaze consistency. Drizzle over cooled cookies and sprinkle remaining pecans.
