  • 1 cup spicy salsa
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon chili powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, mix cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Rub the spice mixture onto both sides of each chicken breast.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
  5. Place chicken in baking dish, top with spicy salsa, and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until chicken reaches internal temperature of 165°F and cheese is melted.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite side dishes.
