Preparation Steps
- In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped red onion, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, chopped basil, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Stir gently to combine. Let sit for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Preheat your broiler or oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice the baguette into approximately 0.5-inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet.
- Lightly brush or spray the bread slices with olive oil.
- Toast the bread under the broiler or in the oven for 2-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crisp. Watch closely to prevent burning.
- Once toasted, immediately rub one side of each bread slice with a peeled garlic clove for extra flavor.
- Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each toasted bread slice.
- Serve immediately to prevent the bread from becoming soggy, or serve the tomato mixture on the side for guests to top their own bruschetta.

Notes
For an extra touch, you can add a drizzle of balsamic glaze over the top of each bruschetta before serving. If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the tomato mixture.
