- To make the agave simple syrup, combine water and agave nectar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the agave nectar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- If desired, rim your glass by running a lime wedge around the edge and dipping it in salt. Fill the glass with ice.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, fresh lime juice, and agave simple syrup. Add a handful of ice.
- Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well-chilled.
- Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve immediately.

Notes
For a pitcher, multiply the margarita ingredients by 6-8 and stir in a pitcher with ice. You can also add a splash of orange juice for extra citrus flavor.
