Ingredients
  

For the Simple Syrup
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.5 cup agave nectar
For the Margarita
  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz agave simple syrup adjust to taste
  • ice
  • lime wedge, for garnish
  • salt, for rimming glasses (optional)

Method
 

Instructions
  1. To make the agave simple syrup, combine water and agave nectar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the agave nectar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  2. If desired, rim your glass by running a lime wedge around the edge and dipping it in salt. Fill the glass with ice.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, fresh lime juice, and agave simple syrup. Add a handful of ice.
  4. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well-chilled.
  5. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve immediately.

Notes

For a pitcher, multiply the margarita ingredients by 6-8 and stir in a pitcher with ice. You can also add a splash of orange juice for extra citrus flavor.
