Preparation Steps
- Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Set to low heat.
- In a separate bowl, combine the BBQ sauce, light brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chipotle chili powder, and white pepper. Whisk until well combined.
- Pour the BBQ sauce mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker. Stir to coat all the chicken evenly.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily pulls apart.
- Once cooked, use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker. Stir the shredded chicken into the BBQ sauce until fully coated.
- Serve the shredded BBQ chicken on toasted hamburger buns or with your favorite sides.
