Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 3.5 pound beef chuck roast
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 4 large carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 4 large celery stalks, diced
  • 3 large potatoes, cut into 1" cubes
  • 2 packets Lipton dry onion soup mix
  • 16 ounce beer (optional) see note in recipe
  • 1 cup beef broth

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Chop veggies and lay in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle both packets of onion soup mix over the vegetables, then add the roast on top.
  3. Pour beer (if using), then beef broth over the meat and vegetables.
  4. Cook for 8 hours on low or 5 hours on high.
  5. Shred the meat with two forks before serving.
