Preparation Steps
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, beat softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth on low speed. Add corn syrup, egg, and vanilla extract and beat well.
- In a separate bowl, stir together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, beating until well combined. Stir in the milk chocolate chips.
- Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Roll about a tablespoon of cookie dough into a ball and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 15 to 17 minutes, or until lightly browned and almost set. Let cool slightly on the cookie sheet, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
