  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1.5 cups unsalted butter melted
  • 4 large Granny Smith apples peeled, cored, and thinly sliced

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, oats, cinnamon, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. Pour melted butter over the dry ingredients and stir until crumbly.
  4. Reserve one-third of the crumb mixture for topping.
  5. Press the remaining crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared dish.
  6. In a separate bowl, toss sliced apples with a tablespoon of flour and cinnamon.
  7. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the apples.
  9. Bake for 55-65 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  10. Allow to cool before slicing and serving.
