Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
  • 3 slices thick cut bacon chopped
  • 1 package McCormick Grill Mates Brown Sugar Bourbon Marinade Mix
  • 1 cup cola-flavored carbonated beverage
  • 0.25 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups fresh peaches coarsely chopped, about 3 to 4 peaches
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
  • 16 ounces cream cheese softened

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and bacon; cook and stir for about 8 minutes, or until bacon is crisp. You can drain some of the grease, but leaving a little is recommended.
  3. Stir the marinade mix, cola, and brown sugar into the skillet.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the mixture reduces and thickens, stirring occasionally.
  5. Stir in the peaches and pecans. Simmer until heated through. For crispy peaches, remove after 3-5 minutes. For softer peaches, leave on for at least 10 minutes.
  6. Spread the softened cream cheese evenly in the bottom of a 9-inch pie plate.
  7. Top the cream cheese with the warm peach mixture.
  8. Serve with assorted crackers or sliced French bread.
