Preparation Steps
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion and bacon; cook and stir for about 8 minutes, or until bacon is crisp. You can drain some of the grease, but leaving a little is recommended.
- Stir the marinade mix, cola, and brown sugar into the skillet.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the mixture reduces and thickens, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the peaches and pecans. Simmer until heated through. For crispy peaches, remove after 3-5 minutes. For softer peaches, leave on for at least 10 minutes.
- Spread the softened cream cheese evenly in the bottom of a 9-inch pie plate.
- Top the cream cheese with the warm peach mixture.
- Serve with assorted crackers or sliced French bread.
